Graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb in 1984. He passed the bar exam in 1988.  During his studies he received the Rector’s Award for excellent achievement.

After his studies he was a trainee lawyer until 31/01/1989. Since 01/02/1989, he has been an independent lawyer.  He is exclusively involved both in commercial law and in international commercial law and arbitration.

Since 1991, he has been a member of editorial board of Odvjetnik (Attorney) journal of the Croatian Bar Association (HOK). Since mid-1993, he has been a Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal. From 1995 to 2019, he was the Editor-in-Chief of Odvjetnik (Attorney) journal and since 2019, he has been the Editor-in-Chief and the person in charge of Zakonitost (Legality) journal.

From 1995 to 1996, he was a Disciplinary Judge of the Disciplinary Court of the Croatian Bar Association. From 1999 to 2003, he was a member of the Management Board of the Zagreb Bar Association.  An examiner of Ethics at the Zagreb Bar Association. From 2000 to 2003, member of the Management Board of the Croatian Bar Association and yet again since 2017. A member of the Publishing Council of Hrvatska pravna revija (Croatian Law Review) from 2012 to 2018.

Since 1997, an arbitrator on the list of arbitrators of the Permanent Arbitration Court at the Croatian Chamber of Economy in Zagreb for disputes at the national level, while since 2014 also for disputes of international character. Since 2012, a member of the Presidency of the Permanent Arbitration Court at the Croatian Chamber of Economy in Zagreb. An examiner at bar examination both in 2018 and in 2019.

A member of Sectoral Committee for Accreditation of Certification Service Providers in the field of application of electronic signature of the Croatian Accreditation Agency since 2010. A member of the Working Group for the implementation of the measure Education and Certification of E-Commerce Advisors of the Croatian Agency for SMEs since 2010. A member of the Digital Economy Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris since 2011. A member of the Forum of the European Commission for Electronic Invoicing. Since 2013, appointed expert for voluntary accreditation of certification service providers at the Croatian Accreditation Agency. A member of the Executive Board of ICC Croatia since 2017.

Master’s degree holder of science of law in the field of commercial and law sciences since 1999.  His master’s thesis was entitled “Electronic Data Interchange Agreement”. A Doctor of the Science of Law since 2017. The doctoral thesis was entitled “Global Unification of Law of Electronic Commerce. A specialist both in commercial law and in international commercial law, a specialist acknowledged by the Croatian Bar Association in 1999.

He participated, both as an attendee and a lecturer, in a large number of consultancy sessions at the national and international level. It is important to highlight International Development Law Institute from Rome, Italy, a seminar paper in 1996 addressing the topic Legal aspects of trade liberalisation and regional economic integration (scholarship awarded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – London) and in 2000 he attended a seminar for Lawyers in Economy in Opatija with a lecture entitled Electronic Data Interchange Agreement. Moreover, in 2002 he attended a seminar for Lawyers in Economy in Opatija with a lecture entitled Practical Use of Electronic Signature. A full time lecturer at Ebiz Consultancy Services in Zagreb in 2017, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 and in 2010. He participated as a representative of the Republic of Croatia in the Digital Economy Commission at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris in 2012.

Since 2007, he has been a lecturer and the course co-ordinator of Legal aspects of e-Commerce at Baltazar Adam Krčelić College of Business and Management, i.e. at Baltazar University of Applied Sciences in Zaprešić where he was appointed as a lecturer. Since 2017, he has been appointed as a senior lecturer.

In 1997, he attended and completed a professional development programme in Rome, Italy, organised and sponsored by the International Developing Law Institute (IDLI) – a seminar on freedom of international trade in relation to WTO rules through a scholarship provided by EBRD.

In 1998, as an associate of American Bar Association and United States Information Agency he completed a professional development programme (in law) in the US entitled “The Legal System of the USA”. He became a full time member of the editorial board and a consultant in Investment Promotion Agency in the Republic of Croatia. He was a member of the editorial board of the same edition in the Croatian Privatisation Fund from 2001 to 2003.

He worked as a participant in a research conducted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) – Measuring Legal Transition in the EBRD’s Countries of Operations Legal Indicator Survey 1999 and 2000 and for all the subsequent years including 2019.  From 2000 to 2008, he was a Permanent Associate – Adviser of The United States Agency for International Development- USAID) in the field of harmonisation of the Croatian energy legislation with the EU acquis. Since 2000, he has been working as an associate in the project referred to as Reconstruction Croatia sponsored by the EU as a Croatian expert on improvement and harmonisation of Croatian legislation with the EU acquis. He was a Special Adviser to the Ministry of Economy and the Government of the Republic of Croatia upon the drafting of the E-Commerce Law, Trade Act, Law on Real Estate Intermediation, Law on Trade in Unprocessed Wood Products, all the laws in the energy sector, the Law on Amendments to the Electronic Signature Law and the Law on Amendments to the E-Commerce Law, to name a few. He was the Advisor of the Central Government Office for E-Croatia in 2010 and in 2011 in the project of analysis and proposals for the promotion of electronic communication for government entities in the Republic of Croatia in 2011.

He published a large number of professional and scientific papers and books, primarily in the field of e-commerce and arbitration. He has active knowledge of the English language.
